It all started with a little dog named Dixie...you see I was supposed to be "Grammy" to all my grandbabies...and I guess you could say I was for a while...except for the fact that, at the time, my 'grandbaby' had 4-legs:-) Then along came Daniel, my son's firstborn, and (Bless His Heart) he could not form the sound of the hard G...and thus began the Adventure!

Breast Cancer
Two years ago today I found out that I have breast cancer.
I've only told a few people about my anniversary of sorts. When you have cancer and you reach the little milestones - they are a true blessing, but along with the blessing comes all the ghosts of the past and the what-ifs of the future. No matter how hard you try they worm their way into your conscience much like the cancer wormed its way into your body. You can still hear the doctor's voice as he said the words. They ring in your ears like a death knell.
So, today will pass and, hopefully, many more days and years will pass with good reports and no doctors calling with news that sends your life spinning out of orbit with the world.
Get a mammogram today. Mine may have saved my life.
