Did you set the hook?

We just returned from spending a week at Goat Island in our little camper on the lake. The first half was devoted to Independence Day activities including a campground picnic and golf cart parade. What a blast it was. Gloria and I wore red, white, and blue feather boas. What a hoot. My sister found them - she can find anything!!

The second half of the trip was spent relaxing around the campsite and cruising the calm waters of the Tennessee River in the late afternoon.

We decided to try our hand at fishing which neither of us has done for over a decade. After the requisite trip to our local WalMart to buy fishing poles and a license, we headed out for our adventure. One of the items we purchased was 'rotten shad' and 'chicken blood dough balls,' and only then because Carter told me we needed it.

We discovered quickly that Mitchell, our cute but not so smart Border-Collie, found chicken blood dough balls to be quite the delicacy! He scarfed down two while our backs were turned! Fortunately for him, I was able to get his attention with a maniacal scream just as he was about to feast upon another - attached to a hook this time!

Don't even ask what Travis said about him......
